Ryan Lawler was hoping to put his name in the record books as the first winner of a CRA South regular season event during the Watermelon Twins at Watermelon Capital Speedway (GA) this past weekend, but mechanical problems kept him held back to a finish of eighth with the Kyle Busch Motorsports #51 Super Late Model.
“I have to thank all the guys on the team, they did an awesome job all weekend,” said Lawler. “We struggled a little bit when we first got here, but we kept working on it and working on it and we got it really good for the race. Its just a bummer man, I really don't even know what to say. We led some laps and we were going to have a good run, but we had some motor problems and we'll just move on.”
Next up for Lawler and the Kyle Busch Motorsports team will be a Blizzard Series/Miller Lite Super Late Model Series doubleheader this weekend at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida and Mobile International Speedway (AL) on Friday and Saturday night respectively.
“We're ready for Pensacola and Mobile, we'll work hard this week to get read for next and rebound from this finish.”
