Seems like these days, if its anything other than the ASA Late Model Challenge Series, Ryan Lawler is right there in charge. In fact, in his first PASS South race of the year, Lawler earned a dominating win.
However, when he races with the ASA Late Model Series, things have went the opposite way for Lawler. That rotten luck that has bit him in the first two races of the year continued on Saturday night, as Lawler ran up front but got caught in a wreck and finished 20th.
“I was working on (Peter) Cozzolino,” said Lawler. “I got a good run in one and two and stuck my nose under him. Right about then, he cut across my nose. So I turned the car down and got into the inside wall and cut down a left front. We had to go in and change a tire.
“We went back to the back and started coming up through the field and then some kid in front of me decided to run over the kid in front of him. Then I got run over from behind. We got the front clip again. We
got more body panels. The luck just isn’t there for us right now.”
