Lawler Settles for Eighth at Peachstate
Ryan Lawler has seen plenty of success in his young Super Late Model career. With victories at short tracks throughout the Southeast, including two wins to start off the 2007 PASS South Super Late Model Series season, Lawler was the hottest driver in the game at the beginning of the year.

But of course, even someone with Lawler's talent can't win them all.  Sometimes, breaks don't necessarily go a driver's way, which was the simple case for Lawler in the PASS South event at Peachstate Speedway (GA) on July 3rd.
Lawler was quick in practice and was biding his time in the 125-lap feature, but ran out of tires and time to make it to challenge for the win.  The young driver settled for eighth.

"I was holding back, only cause I knew my car wasn’t any good," said Lawler.  "I didn’t want to burn it off too much and then be too far back there in the end.

"I don’t really know what happened.  We were a lot faster yesterday than we were today.    I don’t know, I don’t know what to say we just missed it.  We just had to try and keep the car clean.

"I almost got wrecked a few times, I think it was just cause I was in the way.  You are going to have days like

this.  I talk like it is so bad, but we finished eighth, so it isn’t too bad.   I was hoping for a little more than that, but we gained some points and hopefully we will win the championship."

Ryan will be out to keep those championship aspirations in tact when the PASS South resumes its schedule at Lanier National Speedway (GA) on August 4th.
